1 Small Step and 1 Giant Leap!

Hi everyone! I have a ton of great news to catch you all up on. Since the last post I made some things fell through and other things worked out a lot more than expected. I am ever closer to finishing my Koi Pond design and I have a brand new tool in my arsenal! Unfortunately I was unable to go to any art shows but I still have plans to attend in the near future. A lot of things have happened so let's jump into it.

Right of the bat, I had a sale right before school started, I thought I had planned it out so that students were on campus but still had time because classes had not started yet. I was wrong, campus was dead and I sold a single painting. On the bright side I posted my sale on Snapchat and 2 of my returning customers picked up 6 pieces! 6!!! I could not believe it. Check out the latest piece in the Zen garden collection named "Wisteria Red Planet" and the acrylic flowers I made several weeks ago. I am trying to figure out when a good time to sell next would be. Gasparilla is this weekend (the Tampa pirate festival), and my idea is that people will be spending money so they will be less likely to buy my art if I sell before the festival starts. Alternatively they will be less likely if I sell after because people would have already spent their extra cash at the parties. I'm not sure, let me know what you think in the comments. I'm also considering a Gaspy 2023 design to make the occasion but I'm not sure if ill be able to get it done in time.

In other news, I have a new toy to play with. Curtesy of my parents (Thanks Dad!) I have an electric air compressor! This is huge!!! I experimented with it earlier last weekend and the results came out amazing! I've posted them in the acrylic pour section in my gallery. The compressor allows me to get designs not possible with a normal straw. I'm excited to refine my technique!

(Trying out new air compressor, I'll get better at filming while painting!)

Finally I have made strides is coming closer to my Koi Pond design. Campus is open again so I have been floating in and out of the art studio to get into the Fab Lab. More specifically I want to use the laser cutter. After running around all day I was finally able to get in, upload my design, and cut! Now i have my Koi stencil ready, all thats left is to make the "water" on a cake plate, spray on the stencil, and profit! Its just that easy (it only took 3 months to complete). Sarcasm aside I am making the very first one tomorrow. I'll post it as soon as I can so keep an eye on my gallery this week. Once I create this Koi Pond I'll look to apply to art shows around the Tampa area.

Please feel free to message me to chat, talk about my work or process, or commissions! Thank you all for your support and have a wonderful day!
